The deadline for the fleet renewal program has been extended
The NOx Fund has decided on a new deadline of December 31, 2023 for the fleet renewal program.
The purpose of the fleet renewal support program, launched by the NOx Fund on August 10, 2020 is to help replace older ships, that would otherwise continue to have high taxable NOx emissions, with new ships with low NOx emissions.
For new applications, the following deadlines applies:
Received application: December 31, 2023
Newbuilding contract: March 1, 2024
Completed vessel: December 31, 2026
Otherwise, the support conditions are as previously.
Support can be given to companies that plan to build new vessels with a NOx taxable operating pattern in Norway. The NOx Fund distinguishes between 2 different support approaches:
Group 1:
Support for applications with specified outgoing vessels (one or more) in the application phase. These are given support in accordance with current conditions and assessments, and with a support range of 12.5-62.5 MNOK per newbuilding, depending on the NOx emissions of the outgoing ships.
Group 2:
Support for new buildings not linked to specified outgoing vessels.
Support range is 6.25 MNOK per newbuilding.
