Payment rates for 2026
The payment rates to the NOx Fund in 2026 will be 15 and 21 NOK/kg NOx.
The payment rates to the NOx Fund increase from 18 to 21 NOK per kg of NOx emissions from the oil and gas industry. For other activities covered by the NOx tax, the rate rises from 12 to 15 NOK per kilogram of NOx. The increases take effect from the first quarter of 2026 (the period from 1 January to 31 March).
The increase is substantial and has been announced previously. As emissions decline, it becomes necessary to fund the support schemes of the NOx Fund.
