The NOx Fund has decided to be stricter on accepting what is confidential or not confidential on submitted applications for support for NOx-reducing measures. The decision enters into force with immediate effect.
There is a potential to reduce substantial amounts of CO2 and NOx emissions through improved energy efficiency on drilling rigs. Transocean has implemented energy efficiency measures on its rigs in Norway’s taxable waters with support from the NOx Fund.
The Ministry of Climate and Environment and the business organizations have extended the NOx Agreement (2018-2025) by two years, so that the effective period expires in 2027. The supplement means that emission ceilings are set for the years 2026-2027, and that the Agreement provides a basis for tax exemption for NOx tax until December 31st, 2027.

The NOx Agreement 2018-2025 with extension to 2027, assumes that the business organisations must ensure that the total emissions of NOx over periods of two years does not exceed an emission ceiling.
The NOx Fund has supported 12 new projects to reduce NOx emissions. In total, the projects estimate a NOx reduction of 932 tonnes to a total support cost of NOK 317 million.
The NOx Fund has decided to increase the support rate from NOK 2.50 to NOK 7.50 per kilo urea. The change will take effect for the purchase of urea with delivery date from 1 April 2022.
Bluewild AS has received a commitment to support from the NOx Fund of NOK 25 million under the fleet renewal program. The new trawler will be completed by the end of 2023.
